eControl with centralized Cloud dashboard for account and user management at CeBIT 2012
Complex user management tools were yesterday. Omni eControl puts user and account management into the cloud and allows unified user management of Active Directory, Exchange, eDirectory, GroupWise, OpenLDAP, Apple Open Directory, SAP, Oracle, Peoplesoft and other systems from a single, web-based interface. The Identity Management as a Service (IDaaS) solution will be presented at CeBIT in the Canadian Pavilion (D28) in Hall 13.
Greifenberg/Munich, 29 February 2012 – Cloud computing acceptance and popularity continue to increase. More companies are deploying Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for collaboration, CRM and now Identity Management. Canadian software company, Omni (www.omni-ts.com), developed eControl more than 10 years ago to simplify account management in Microsoft and Novell networks from a unified cloud application. Since then, the company has added support for additional directory services, collaboration and database applications to eControl and continued to focus on ease of use and security.
eControl allows administrators to securely delegate user management tasks to IT help desk staff without giving away any administrator rights or permissions. Users like eControl because it is much faster than traditional administration consoles, it can manage multiple systems from a single IDaaS interface, and it does not require complicated VPN and RDP sessions to be established. eControl can be used to manage Active Directory, Exchange, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, eDirectory, GroupWise, OpenLDAP and Apple Open Directory from a secure web application.
eControl replaces complex administration tools including:
- Exchange 2010 Management Console (requires 64-bit desktop)
- OpenLDAP Administration Application
- SUSE Linux Yast
- PHP LDAP Admin
- Novell iManager
- Novell ConsoleOne
- Novell NWAdmin
- RedHat Config User
- Solaris Management Center
- Oracle, Peoplesoft, SAP and SQL management consoles
eControl is especially useful in large enterprise environments and universities where administrators need to bulk create and manage thousands of user accounts. Simple tasks such as password resets can be delegated to front-line staff and to end-users via eControl’s password self-service feature.
eControl’s Extension Framework allows organizations to centralize user management in applications via SQL queries, APIs, REST/JSON/SOAP web services and COM objects. This allows eControl to become the primary application for IT desk staff to use to manage and provision accounts across multiple systems.
At CEBIT, Omni will demonstrate eControl’s integrated audit controls that ensure administrators can monitor and track all changes made within eControl and satisfy internal and external security rules.
“eControl gives time back to IT administrators and simplifies account management across the enterprise,” said Dr.-Ing. Thomas Fleissner, Omni Germany. “Imagine being able to carry out account management tasks in multiple systems from a single cloud application. eControl makes this possible with a few clicks.”
eControl’s intuitive Web 2.0 interface does not require extensive user training. Given that eControl enables identity management and provisioning via the web – without RDP or VPN sessions – the solution can be deployed immediately and is platform-independent. Organizations achieve an immediate return on their investment and increase help desk productivity.
Omni helps drive corporate profitability and productivity with its identity management and CRM integration software. Omni eControl allows IT and network administrators to simplify account management, provisioning, audit and user self-service functions to help desk staff and junior administrators. eControl can be purchased in Europe through its German office or European partners. www.omniecontrol.com
